What to do in Djerba in 3 days

Three days are enough to fall for Djerba — as long as you don't try to see everything.

Day 1 — Houmt Souk

Spend the morning in the souks and old caravanserais, then climb the Borj el-Kebir fort. Fish lunch on the harbour.

Day 2 — Erriadh and Guellala

• Djerbahood: over 200 street-art works in the lanes of Erriadh.
• El Ghriba synagogue.
• Guellala: potters' workshops and the heritage museum.

Day 3 — The sea

A beach day at Sidi Mahrez, or a boat trip to Flamingo Island.

One day of car hire is enough: you can cross the island in forty minutes.
